“Orlando Bloom Spotted At Dinner With Angela Merkel,” read the faux headline about the actor and another former world leader.
“Just weeks after announcing his split with fiancée Katy Perry, English actor Orlando Bloom was photographed Friday dining with former German Chancellor Angela Merkel,” the caption started.
The fake reporting went on: “Angela kept Orlando laughing all night — he couldn’t keep his eyes off her!’ said an insider source who spotted the pair sipping wine, slurping oysters, and splitting a decadent piece of chocolate layer cake at a Michelin-starred restaurant.”
Bloom, 48, who confirmed his breakup from the “Lifetimes” singer last month, showed his appreciation for the funny commentary, sharing a series of clapping hands emojis in the comments section.
The joke comes on the heels of reports that Perry, 40, and Trudeau, 53, have started seeing each other.
Perry and Trudeau first sparked romance rumors this week after they were spotted dining together at a restaurant in Montreal.
They were also seen going on a romantic stroll with Perry’s dog “Nugget” for about an hour. However, they didn’t engage in any PDA.
On Wednesday, Trudeau was seen supporting Perry at her “Lifetimes” concert at Montreal’s Bell Centre.
On Saturday, a source told People the duo felt an “instant connection” and “have a lot in common.”
“Music is one of many things they can share,” the insider shared.
“Both are idealists and still live in a world where they think they can make improvements, although it has gotten more difficult,” the source added.
