So as MLB’s All-Star Game, a once indispensable TV treasure, continues to erode to be a bad joke as 25 million fans have abandoned it as a waste of their time, most everyone recognizes that the AL vs. NL special event is annually diminished by excessive interleague play.

What “Bottom Line” Bud Selig introduced as “a gift to fans” when it was a gift to team owners in the form of jacked up ticket prices, has made the National League indistinguishable from the American. The standings, now in large part determined by interleague games, are used to determine the 12 teams in the playoffs. Search for the games on TV if you’re among those who still care.
