Conor McGregor’s bar catches fire as police investigate alleged arson
Conor McGregor’s Ireland pub, The Black Forge Inn, caught fire on Friday morning, and police are chasing down a suspected arsonist.
Investigators allege a person doused the bar — located in Crumlin, a suburb outside of Dublin — around the entrance with a “flammable liquid” at 3 a.m. before setting it ablaze and fleeing the scene, The Sun reported Friday.

“There was a small fire at the door that was quickly brought under control,” a source told the outlet. “One individual was involved in the incident and quickly ran from the scene. Thankfully, there was no one around at the time, and nobody was injured.”
The fire was put out by the Dublin Fire Brigade, and workers were seen making repairs to the front of the bar Friday morning.
Authorities are examining the scene and the film of nearby security cameras in the area with the hope of identifying a suspect and finding a motive behind the blaze.
The incident will be investigated as criminal damage caused by fire, the BBC reported.
A local told The Sun that it came as “no surprise” to the neighborhood that the fire occurred.
“The homes near the pub were woken up by the sound of fire engines and sirens,” the person said. “The fire was extinguished pretty quickly, and then the guards were back first thing to examine the pub. It’s hard to know who was behind this attack because he’s not popular with everyone in this community.”
The former MMA fighter, who bought the bar in 2020 for $2 million, is aware of the situation and posted on Instagram that the bar is open for business.
“UNBEATABLE!” McGregor wrote in a story, sharing a post about the flames.
He also shared an Instagram post from The Black Forge Inn that read: “Always Open for Business #UnbeatableHospitality.” Over the story, McGregor wrote “HAPPY FRIDAY, FREAKS!”
In 2022, the establishment was targeted in a suspected petrol bomb attack, yet the bomb failed to ignite and no damage was caused.
After that incident, McGregor installed bulletproof windows in the bar, which is a regular hangout spot for McGregor and his family, along with celebrity friends.
