Emily Simpson drags ‘RHOC’ co-star Gretchen Rossi’s ‘Little House on the Prairie’ style
Fashion is not Gretchen Rossi’s forte, according to her “Real Housewives of Orange County” castmate Emily Simpson.
Simpson, 49, tells Page Six’s “Virtual Reali-Tea” that Rossi, 46, often wears clothes that remind her of “costumes” — with one that was eerily reminiscent of styles seen on the 1970s TV series “Little House on the Prairie.”

“We actually get in an argument [when she wore this ensemble], but it looks very ‘Little House on the Prairie.’ Like, I thought she was gonna get in a covered wagon and leave the argument,” the attorney says of Rossi’s seeming pioneer cosplay.
“So there was that one.”
Simpson notes that Rossi’s costumes — and creativity — continued throughout filming for the latter’s return to “RHOC” as a “friend of” the cast following a 12-year hiatus.
“There’s another one where it’s like a mix between Hamburglar and Sherlock Holmes,” she says of the look, referencing the beloved beef-stealing McDonald’s character and the iconic fictional detective, respectively.
“It is creative!”
Simpson clarifies that her digs at Rossi’s sartorial sensibilities are all made in good fun.
“I say these things to her. Like, we joke. She’ll even make jokes when she puts something on and she’s like, ‘I knew Emily was going to say something.’ Like, you bet I am! It’s fun,” she tells “Virtual Reali-Tea.” “We have fun with it.”
Though Simpson isn’t a fan of Rossi’s wardrobe, she loves her signature platinum blond tresses.
“It does look healthy. She does have good blond [hair]. You never can see regrowth. I don’t understand that!” she says with admiration.
“She must color it weekly because I don’t know how you don’t get any kind of regrowth.”
While she appreciates Rossi’s hair, Simpson can’t help but throw a little shade her way.
“And it doesn’t move! I make fun of it. I call it, like, a helmet. It’s like a Lego, like you just put the hair on. You just wake up, put your Lego hair on all day and it doesn’t move,” she quips.
Still, “I think it looks good,” Simpson assures us.
Meanwhile, “RHOC” mainstay Tamra Judge — a longtime adversary of Rossi’s — believes that the “Unbreakable” singer’s approaches to both fashion and beauty are outdated.
“They’re both bad,” she said during a recent chat with “Virtual Reali-Tea.” “Yeah, it’s really bad.”
“The Real Housewives of Orange County” airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET on Bravo with new episodes available to stream the next day on Peacock.
