The Challenge’s Trey Plutnicki Is Engaged

Trey Plutnicki from Squid Game: The Challenge is engaged! 

The reality star — known for competing in the Netflix hit with his mom, LeAnn Wilcox Plutnicki, and the all-star competition Battle Camp — announced that he popped the question to girlfriend Cecilia Iole in a joint Instagram post on Saturday, April 19. 

The romantic post, filled with photos from the special moment, was captioned with a simple “4.17.25,” seemingly the date Trey got on one knee. 

The photos were set to the song “You’re My Home” by Billy Joel, and show the fan-favorite contestant proposing against the backdrop of the Chicago skyline while Iole, an actress and singer, reacted with a big grin on her face.

Trey wore straight leg blue jeans with a gray jacket over a multicolored top and brown shoes for the occasion, while his partner dressed up in a black dress with gold polka dots and black stilettos. She accessorized her stylish look with a tan trench coat and a small black purse. 

The post also showed the aftermath of the proposal, including the moment they embraced each other and kissed with Iole showing off her new bling to the camera. A close-up of the engagement ring shows it to be a simple gold band with a large emerald surrounded by two diamonds. 

Several of Trey’s Squid Game: The Challenge costars offered their congratulations in the comments section, including Hallie Parrott, who wrote, “IM SMILING SO HARD AHHHHHH YOU TWO ARE PERFECT TOGETHER 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰 SO HAPPY FOR YOU.”

Dash Katz wrote, “CONGRATULATIONS LOVERS !!!! 💘💍 so happy for you both,” and James Davisson penned, “The best!!!!! Love you both so much!!!!!! CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!”

Jackie G, a deaf contestant on the show who has since gone viral for her lip reading videos, wrote, “Congratulations!!! What a gorgeous shoot!”

LeAnn, meanwhile, posted a slideshow of the engagement on her own Instagram. “We are so thrilled for @choochootreyn and @ceciliaiole!!!!” the proud mom wrote. “He actually surprised her! ❤️💍❤️💍❤️ Our families grow! And @c.wyo took amazing pics of the proposal!”

Iole later posted a selfie with Trey on her Instagram Stories, writing, “Fiancé.” The two were seated in a restaurant booth for the snap, with the bride-to-be looping their arms together as they smiled at the camera. 

She also shared their post to her Stories with the sweet caption, “Still floating.”

The two often post about each other on social media. Trey shared a Valentine’s Day tribute to his partner in February that included snapshots from throughout their relationship, including them performing on a stage together, taking a mirror selfie while wearing bike helmets and sharing a kiss while at an outdoors event. 

Iole dedicated a lengthy birthday post to Trey in December 2023, writing, “Happy birthday to my favorite person! 🥳 I love doing life with you!! Thank you for always keeping it exciting (especially this year!!) I can’t wait to see what the next year has in store for you 💖.”
