If the Cannes Film Festival wasn’t starry enough, Angelina Jolie has finally arrived!
After taking a break from the red carpet following her streak of appearances during the 2025 awards season, the Maria actress, 49, made her signature style known at the Trophée Chopard dinner, held on Carlton Beach on Friday, May 16.
Jolie was dressed to impress in an elegant, one-sleeve gown with a slight slit exposing her ankle-strap heels.

The actress let her natural beauty shine in the flowy white dress, wearing her hair down with minimal jewelry, including dangly silver earrings. She wore light makeup, including a rosy pink lip.
As the “godmother” of the night, Jolie will present the accolade to rising actors Marie Colomb and Finn Bennett during the ceremony, which is hosted by Cannes Film Festival execs, president Iris Knobloch and general delegate Thierry Frémaux, alongside Chopard co-president and artistic director Caroline Scheufele.

The last time Jolie was in France for the Cannes Film Festival was in 2011, when she attended the Tree of Life premiere with her then-husband Brad Pitt. Jolie also walked the carpet pregnant in 2008.
Jolie made memorable fashion moments during the 2025 awards circuit, due to her nominations for Netflix’s Maria, in which she played the late opera star Maria Callas.
Her fashion parade started at the Palm Springs International Film Festival, where she stunned in an elegant black halter dress and a gorgeous hairstyle with side-swept bangs. Zahara Jolie-Pitt, Jolie’s 20-year-old daughter, attended in a white gown with a floor-length lace skirt. The mother-daughter outing marked Jolie’s first major public appearance after she and Pitt reached a settlement in their divorce.

Jolie and Zahara made their mark at the Golden Globes (Jolie’s first since 2018) in embellished dresses. Jolie’s last awards show was the Feb. 7 Critics Choice Awards, for which she wore a nude Elie Saab Spring/Summer 2025 lace gown with a V neckline.

Before promoting Maria last fall, Jolie celebrated a major milestone with her daughter Vivienne, 16, on Broadway for the musical The Outsiders.

Jolie announced in August 2023 that she would be working as a lead producer on the show, an adaptation of Hinton’s 1967 novel and Francis Ford Coppola’s 1983 film. She also shared at the time that Vivienne worked on the show as a volunteer assistant.
The Outsiders went on to win best musical at the 2024 Tonys, to which Jolie wore a sage green velvet Atelier Versace gown (with a neckline that revealed her then-new bird tattoo) that coordinated with Vivienne’s emerald outfit.
