The young forward left the court in a wheelchair after being examined by trainers and there is no further update on his injury status.
Bazley, 25, drafted in the first round in 2019 by the Utah Jazz before having his rights traded multiple times and eventually landing with the Thunder, had been having a breakout summer league thus far after playing a combined 16 NBA games since 2023.
He had looked excellent in five NBA summer league games, putting up 11.2 points, 8.4 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.8 blocks, and 0.6 steals per game.
That included a dazzling performance against the Spurs on July 8, when he put up 27 points and 13 rebounds on 8-of-10 shooting.
The injury, though, will put his immediate NBA future in doubt even if it’s not as bad as it is feared to be.
Lower leg injuries have been a problem in the NBA in recent years. The Celtics’ Jayson Tatum and Pacers’ Tyrese Haliburton, who went down screaming in Game 7 of the NBA Finals, both suffered torn Achilles in the postseason.
