Pickleball star Riley Newman is renting a home in NYC
Riley Newman, a top pickleball champ, is moving to New York City — and into the Sky building far west on 42nd Street.
The massive 60-story glass tower, at 605 W. 42nd St., comes with a pickleball court as a sweet added perk for him. It was added to the building in 2023.

“I will be playing a lot of pickleball there, and working out at the gym,” said Newman, 32, who will be renting a one-bedroom for around $5,000 a month. He was repped in the deal by Sabrina Kleier Morgenstern, of Kleier Residential.
Built in 2016, the rental tower has a history of attracting athletes — including Kristaps Porzingis and Sasha Vujacic when they played for the Knicks, and baseball pitcher A.J. Ramos when he played for the Mets.
(That said, the building also aptly comes with an NBA regulation-sized basketball court that was designed by retired basketball star Carmelo Anthony.)
Models including Nina Agdal and Jen Selter also once lived in the building, designed by the Rockwell Group.
Newman’s apartment is 600 square feet and has floor-to-ceiling windows, oak floors and an open kitchen.
“The views are sick,” Newman added. “I love the views of the water and downtown, and I wanted a building with top-notch amenities.”
Sky’s gym, Life Time Athletic, also boasts an indoor pool and two outdoor pools — plus the pickleball court.
Newman is now with the Brooklyn Pickleball Team, which is part of Major League Pickleball, as well as the PPA tour.
This all marks the first time that Newman, who hails from Whidbey Island, north of Seattle, has lived in the Big Apple. He says he’s also looking forward to attending some Knicks and Yankees games now that he will be living in New York — with the lease starting this month.
“I’m a huge sports fan. I’ve never been to a Knicks game, and I’m super excited to go. The fans are so passionate. You don’t have that same energy and feel anywhere but in New York City,” he said.
