The journalist, notably, asked Teresa, “How is it that a family doesn’t pay their taxes for years? Is that what the fraud charges were?”

The Bravolebrity, who served 11 months in prison for mail, wire and bankruptcy fraud, replied, “OK. Let’s just hang up. That’s it.”

She hung up the phone — although Gia joked that her mother felt “frazzled” and showed she is “not tech savvy” in any way.

“I thought she handled it perfectly,” the Rutgers University graduate added. “She’s just over it. People have this whole narrative that we just don’t pay our taxes.

“It’s honestly comical for me,” Gia continued. “But I feel so bad for my mom because she’s been busting her ass and paying everything since she got out.”

She acknowledged that “people want [Teresa] to set the record straight,” while insisting it’s “frankly … nobody’s business.”

Gia noted, “People think they know [what happened] still to this day, and they don’t.”

Teresa and her ex-husband, Joe Giudice, pleaded guilty to fraud in 2014, with the 53-year-old businessman serving two years before he was deported to his native Italy in 2019.

The duo called it quits after two decades of marriage following Joe’s deportation.

Teresa moved on with husband Luis Ruelas, whom she wed in August 2022, and the duo have alleged tax troubles of their own.

Page Six obtained documents in March revealing the cookbook author owes $303,889.20 in tax liens.

As for Ruelas, the 50-year-old businessman allegedly owes more than $2.6 million.

Gia, however, told her “Casual Chaos” podcast listeners that there is “nothing to worry about.”

She claimed, “My mom has everything under control. [Ruelas] is also working on getting everything resolved as well.”

Gia thanked fans for their “concern,” concluding, “Everything’s going to be fine.”
