Trinity Rodman calls out Wimbledon announcers over Dennis Rodman mention
Trinity Rodman got a few things off her chest about the attention she’s received while supporting boyfriend Ben Shelton at Wimbledon.
The USWNT star, who has been in London while rehabbing a back injury, explained that she doesn’t want her personal life discussed at the Grand Slam, which came after an ESPN broadcaster brought up her father, NBA legend Dennis Rodman, during Shelton’s fourth-round match on Monday.

“For those who don’t know… my name is TRINITY not Tiffany,” Rodman wrote in an Instagram Story Monday, adding crying laughing emojis.
“Also, for Ben’s matches he has his family there as his support system, which includes his dad… my dads not even in MY life no need to bring him up during HIS matches when I don’t even want him talked about during mine. It’s him and his loved ones’ moment. Thank you.”
She concluded the post with a thumbs-up emoji.
Rodman, who is estranged from her father, said on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast last December that he is an absentee father and an alcoholic.
Rodman has received plenty of television time amid Shelton’s run at Wimbledon.
On Monday, the Washington Spirit forward was mentioned on the broadcast during Shelton’s fourth-round victory over Italian Lorenzo Sonego.
“The girlfriend of Ben Shelton, great soccer player in her own right, the daughter of former basketball star Dennis Rodman,” the announcer said as cameras captured Rodman and Shelton’s sister Emma, who became a breakout star at the tournament.
In addition to Trinitty, Dennis Rodman is also a dad to her brother, Dennis Rodman Jr., whom he shares with ex Michelle Moyer.
Rodman said she lost hope for a reconciliation with her father after she didn’t hear from him following a surprise appearance at a NWSL playoff game for the Spirit in November 2021.
“I lost hope in ever getting him back, I answer the phone now for my conscience to be like, ‘He needed to hear my voice’ before anything happens,” she told host Alex Cooper. “That’s why I answer the phone, not for me. He’s not a dad maybe by blood but nothing else.”
Shelton defeated Sonego in the Round of 16 to set up a quarterfinals clash with top seed Jannik Sinner.
Bulgaria’s Grigor Dimitrov retired in the third set due against Sinner on Monday to an injured pectoral muscle after he took the first two sets from the Italian tennis star.
Sinner, who injured his right elbow earlier in the match, said he will have an MRI on Tuesday to “see if there’s something serious,” adding in Italian that “there is some concern.”
Rodman will likely be sitting with Shelton’s family during his quarterfinal match against Sinner on Wednesday.
