The Nets, Warriors, Lakers, Hawks and Timberwolves could also be involved to facilitate the transaction, per the outlet.

If completed, it would break the record six-team deal from last summer involving Klay Thompson being sent to the Mavericks from the Warriors in a sign-and-trade deal.

Though the Rockets and Suns agreed to a deal on June 22, deals cannot be finalized until the league’s new year starts July 6.

The Rockets-Suns version of the trade involves Houston receiving Durant in exchange for Jalen Green, Dillon Brooks, the No. 10 pick in last month’s draft, a second-round pick in the 2025 draft and four other second-round picks, per ESPN.

Phoenix used the No. 10 pick to select Duke big man Khaman Maluach, while it used the No. 59 pick to move up and pick Kentucky sharpshooter Koby Brea with the 41st selection.

That the league can’t honor the trades on draft night is why players bizarrely wear wrong team hats.

This potential seven-team deal would mesh together several moves that have already been agreed to by their respective teams, according to The Athletic, including the Rockets acquiring Clint Capela.

The transactions reportedly would only include five players who competed in the NBA in 2024-25 in Durant, Brooks, Green, Capela and Hawks guard Daeqwon Plowden.

The other players are from draft-day trades that have not been finalized, per the outlet.

The Rockets’ blockbuster acquisition has made them a top title contender for the 2025-26 season, with Houston tied for the third-best championship odds at BetMGM.

The Suns, meanwhile, are tied for the second-lowest odds at 750/1 after moving on from their Big 3 era featuring Durant, Bradley Beal and Devin Booker.
