And then there were two.
By the end of the day, just one AFC team will remain in the NFL Playoffs, and it’ll be Super Bowl-bound. Will it be the New England Patriots, back in the AFC title game for the first time since 2018, or the Denver Broncos, who defeated the Patriots in their last two AFC Championship appearances (2014, 2016)?

Denver’s offense will look a bit different in today’s matchup; during the overtime quarter against Buffalo in last week’s divisional game, Broncos starting quarterback Bo Nix broke his ankle on one of the final plays of the game and is sidelined for 12 weeks. Backup Jarrett Stidham will make his first start since 2023 today; he appeared in a game just four times since Nix’s 2024 arrival in Denver, without a regular season pass to his name.
New England punched their ticket to the title game with a 28-16 victory over Houston, in which they forced five turnovers and allowed just 214 yards of offense. Since then, starting quarterback Drake Maye was named a finalist for the season’s MVP award.
