January has been an incredible month for television. The Pitt and Industry have returned with new episodes on HBO, High Potential, The Rookie, and Will Trent are once again making ABC the place to be on Tuesday nights, and Saturday Night Live returns this weekend (January 17) with the first of three new episodes.

Unfortunately, fans of a number of popular CBS shows are going to have to wait a little longer for new episodes. Fire Country and Sheriff Country will return on Friday, February 27, 2026, while Tracker will be back on Sunday, March 1.

What about our good pal Matlock, you ask? Great question. Here’s when this CBS favorite returns with new episodes.

Is Matlock Airing a New Episode Tonight (January 15)?

Nope. CBS’ primetime schedule begins with back-to-back reruns of Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage and Ghosts, followed by two repeats of Matlock at 9:00 p.m. (Season 2, Episode 3: “Tomorrow is Still Tomorrow”) and 10:00 p.m. ET (Season 2, Episode 4: “Piece of Heart”).

When Does Matlock Return With New Episodes?

Sadly, it’s going to be a few weeks. The next new episode of Matlock airs Thursday, February 26, 2026, at 9:00 p.m. ET on CBS.

The episode will be available for next-day streaming for Paramount+ Essential subscribers on Friday, February 27.
