You’ll likely find crowds whenever you go to Disney, but in general, the best tactic is to avoid school breaks — such as winter and spring breaks — as well as major holidays and events to avoid overwhelming crowds.

Historically, mid-January to early February is among the least crowded times for the Orlando, Florida, theme park, according to the findings.
These weeks hit the spot between the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend and when schools go on their February breaks, so crowds are at a minimum. The exception to this would be Martin Luther King, Jr. Day and the weekend leading up to it.
However, if these dates don’t work, there are other times of the year when parkgoers can expect crowds that aren’t as hectic.
USA Today also noted that going to the park in early March or late April, before and after spring breaks, are slightly quieter time of year, as is early to mid-May before summer vacation breaks out.
After Labor Day in September through early October, before fall break, is another sweet spot. And besides Veterans Day weekend, early to mid-November also tends to be less crowded.

Finally, early December, after Thanksgiving and before winter break and the holidays, will be quieter — especially before Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.
USA Today also noted that going to the park midweek is typically less crowded than weekends or weekdays that border the weekend, like Fridays and Mondays, so long as they’re not holiday weeks or during a school break.
As for when it’s least expensive to visit, ticket prices vary by date and park, but September is overall the cheapest month to go to Disney World, with August not far behind.
At the time of the analysis, the dates with the lowest starting prices for one-day, one-park tickets for 2026 include Aug. 18, 20, 21, 24-28, and Sept. 1-3, 8-10, 15-17, 22-24.
