Hateful anti-ICE protesters: Letters | New York Post

The Issue: Protests against ICE erupting across the country after the shooting of Renee Nicole Good.
What is wrong with these people who protest against what is right (“All gas, no brake for lefty outrage,” Jan. 10)?
Do they want illegals living off of their taxes? Do they want free housing for them, when the rest of us must pay for a roof over our heads? These protesters need some kind of brain therapy to get it right.

Protesting in America is a constitutional right, which I wholeheartedly support. But those wishing to do so should read the First Amendment which reads: “Congress shall make no law . . . prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble ” (my emphasis).

I am so sick of these self-righteous agitators screaming at our brave and dedicated ICE and Border Patrol agents.
If any of those idiots lost a loved one because of a violent illegal alien, I have a feeling they would not be trying to keep them in this country.
I beg the good citizens of the United States to stop listening to the rhetoric spewing from the left, open their eyes and realize they are being taken for fools by the criminals trying to destroy us. Also, the politicians fanning the flames must be held accountable and stopped immediately.

I really think Gov. Tim Walz and Mayor Jacob Frey should be arrested for inciting riots and proclaiming “justice”: These two politicians are the worst at their jobs.
Remember, these protesters are trained to hurt agents and law-enforcement officers. What happened is tragic, but the truth is this woman threatened these officers. End of story.

I am appalled and astounded as to the stupidity and disrespect of the so-called protesters.
Did this woman have to die? No.
Is she responsible for her own death? There are two sides on this, but as I see it, she failed to listen to the authoritative figures that were approaching her car. Had she not agitated and displayed her ignorance of the law, she would be alive today.

The Issue: Mayor Mamdani joining 15,000 striking private-hospital nurses on the picket line.
Will someone please tell comrade Mayor Mamdani that there was no need for him to join the picket line and address the crowd at the nurse’s strike (“You’re Management Now, Mr. Mayor,” Editorial, Jan. 13)?
As mayor, he should work assiduously behind the scenes to encourage the unions and hospital management to resolve the impasse, immediately. If the mayor fully understood his role, he wouldn’t have committed such a glaring faux pas.

You’re free to criticize Mamdani. But the framing of your editorial is more sneer than analysis: It implies hypocrisy without engaging the actual policy substance of the strike — unsafe staffing, workplace-violence protections, retention and the economics of New York City health-care delivery.
If you want to persuade skeptical readers, lead with facts: staffing ratios, vacancy rates, contract terms, hospital finances, and what the city can and cannot control — not caricature.

These nurses go above and beyond the call of duty, and are due for what they ask for.
I hope the hospital administrations will do the right thing for these nurses and their patients who depend on these nurses’ help.
