Gabrielle Union Confesses On ‘Today’ That She’s Not A Mile High Club Member: Dwyane Wade Is “Way Too Big”
Gabrielle Union had plenty of praise to share about her husband Dwyane Wade while visiting Today With Jenna & Sheinelle, but there is one thing she did not seem particularly interested in: Joining the mile high club.
The actress joined Jenna Bush Hager and Sheinelle Jones on the broadcast to discuss “the most annoying things couple do when they fly,” including bickering in the airport and witnessing people going to the bathroom together, presumably to join the mile high club. When Union laughed at the idea, Bush Hager teased Union to confess whether or not she’s a member of the illicit club.

“I mean that’s not me!” she told Bush Hager. “My spouse is way too big for us to do anything together in an airplane bathroom. That’s not fun for anybody.”
Bush Hager and Jones could not hold back their laughter.
Union later added, “I think it’s kind of fun. I mean, I don’t want to do it but good for you! Love that you couldn’t wait until you land.”
Bush Hager noted that she did not see the appeal.

“When I used to have to go [into the airplane bathroom] with kids for wiping purposes, I would be like, ‘Why would anybody do anything in here?’” she said.
Bush Hager also could not let Union leave without asking about Wade, who co-hosted Today With Jenna & Friends several times in 2025.
The NBC host revealed Wade, who she called her “bestie,” gave her a “special” gift after they worked together: A bottle of wine for every important date of her life, including her kids’ birthdays and her wedding anniversary.
“You married a good one,” she told Union.
“He is so freakishly thoughtful and he’s such a planner. He likes to really make sure that thought goes into it,” Union replied, before jokingly adding, “And this is an evolution. It wasn’t always like this.”
Today with Jenna & Sheinelle airs on weekdays at 10/9c on NBC.
