“Even a close relative who is a lawyer tried to take on the case but was blocked and threatened by security agents,” a source close to the family told IranWire.

“They told him, ‘There is no file to review. We announced that anyone arrested in the protests would be executed,’” the source added.

Soltani’s family has also allegedly been threatened with arrests if they try to speak out publicly about the case or contact the media, according to the local outlet.

The protester is being charged with “waging war against God,” a crime punishable by death in Iran, The US Sun reported.

The full details of Soltani’s alleged execution orders have yet to be independently verified amid the nationwide communications blackout in Iran.

The 26-year-old, who worked in the clothing industry, was among the thousands who marched in the streets of Karaj last Thursday to protest Iran’s current regime and its failures in fixing the country’s ailing economy.

More than 10,000 protesters have been arrested since the demonstrations broke out in late December across all of Iran’s 31 provinces, according to human rights groups.

Tehran has enacted a brutal crackdown on the protests, with the death toll hovering between 500 to 2,000 people, according to the US-based Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA).

President Trump urged Iranians to continue the protests on Tuesday in his latest threat against the regime, vowing that the US would stand by the demonstrators.

“Iranian Patriots, KEEP PROTESTING – TAKE OVER YOUR INSTITUTIONS!!!… HELP IS ON ITS WAY,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

The president, who has ramped up his threats of military action in Iran, added that he had canceled all meetings with Iranian officials until the “senseless killing” of the protesters ends.
