Taylor Swift made her presence known at the 2026 Golden Globes

Taylor Swift had the last laugh at the 2026 Golden Globes — without even being in attendance.

The pop star’s songs were played several times throughout the night as her ex-boyfriend Joe Alwyn and alleged rival, Charli XCX, sat in the audience.

Golden Globes host Nikki Glaser — who is a proud Swiftie herself — revealed the role Swift would play in one of Hollywood’s biggest nights shortly before the show.

“I just want to have fun,” she told E! News Sunday on the Golden Globes carpet.

“I literally was having fun last time. I was surprisingly present. You don’t know until it happens. I hope that happens for me tonight when I walk out on stage — to a Taylor Swift song by the way.”

“I never go out of style is all I’ll say,” Glaser, 41, teased. “I’m so excited about it. It gives me this most confidence to strut out there to that song.”

The comedian kicked off the night by walking onstage to “Style” before delivering her hilarious monologue.

“Shake It Off” and “The Fate of Ophelia” were also heard at other points during the ceremony.

Despite Glaser’s innocent motive for wanting to play Swift’s hits, fans quickly noted how the award show’s soundtrack could’ve been a salt in the wound for Alwyn and Charli.

“Joe Alwyn having to hear ‘The Fate of Ophelia’ 💀” one fan wrote via X.

“Charli XCX and Joe Alwyn just sitting there, having to hear it — I’m crying 😭 😂 Awkward, iconic, and unforgettable all at once,” another Swiftie penned.

Others wished the camera had panned to them in the audience to see their reactions.

Swift, 36, and Alwyn, 34, — the latter of whom starred in “Hamnet,” which won best motion picture, drama — dated for six years before calling it quits in April 2023.

At the time, sources exclusively told Page Six that their relationship “just ran its course” and the breakup “wasn’t dramatic.”

Swift moved on with her now-fiancé, Travis Kelce, later that year.

As for Charli — who presented the awards for best original song and best original score — her alleged feud with the singer came to light in October.

Fans believe the two singers have beef after Swift released her “Life of a Showgirl” album, which seemingly included a diss track towards the British artist, 33.

In Swift’s track “Actually Romantic,” a song whose title bears a notable resemblance to Charli’s “Everything is romantic,” many speculated that the lyrics were jabs at Charli’s alleged drug use and the fact that she bonded with Swift’s ex Matty Healy.

Both artists have remained tight-lipped over feud rumors, but Charli has appeared to throw shade at Swift on several occasions since the release of her 12th studio album.
