Matthew Stafford finger sprained, but ‘good to go’ vs. Bears: Sean McVay
Rams fans woke up to some good news Monday morning — Matthew Stafford’s throwing hand looks like it’s going to be OK.
Head coach Sean McVay told media members his quarterback sustained a sprained pointer finger during Los Angeles’ playoff victory over the Panthers on Saturday, but “he’ll be good to go” against the Bears in their Divisional Round matchup this weekend.

“He’s as tough as it gets,” McVay said.
Stafford got hurt late in the first half of the Rams’ 34-31 nail-biter at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, N.C., when his right paw crashed into D.J. Wonnum’s forearm on a follow through of one of his throws.
Replays showed Stafford’s finger bent back awkwardly, and the 37-year-old signal-caller appeared to be in a world of pain in the moments afterward.
He was ultimately able to finish the game with 304 passing yards, three touchdowns and an interception, but he told reporters following the tilt’s final whistle that the injury “wasn’t pleasant.”
“It wasn’t great,” he added.
Kickoff time for Los Angeles’ road game against Chicago has not yet been determined, though the team does know it’ll play at some point on Sunday.
While the Rams got positive updates on Stafford’s status to start the week, McVay did rule out cornerback Ahkello Witherspoon after he aggravated a shoulder injury in Carolina.
Other injured Rams, including offensive lineman Kevin Dotson and tight end Terrance Ferguson, could suit up versus the Bears, McVay said.
