The move adds a proven playmaker to a Texas offense that underwhelmed, relative to expectations, this past 2025 season.
Coleman, a 6-foot-3 receiver who is leaving the Auburn program and heading to Texas after just two seasons.
He chose Texas over Alabama, Texas Tech and Texas A&M, with whom he also reportedly visited.
The Longhorns’ 2025 campaign saw them finish 10–3, culminating in a 41-27 win over Michigan in the Cheez-It Citrus Bowl.
Texas, who ended the season ranked No. 14 in the country, made it to the College Football Playoff in 2023 and 2024, but fell short this season.

Manning, who threw for 3,163 yards with 26 touchdowns and seven interceptions, was highly criticized early on in the year for failing to live up to massive expectations.
He later steadied, and now gets help in a receiving core led by Ryan Wingo’s 54 receptions, 834 yards and seven touchdowns.
No other Texas receiver recorded at least 40 receptions or 550 yards this season. The team did lose Manning’s roommate, Parker Livingstone, to Oklahoma in the transfer portal. The receiver caught 29 passes for 516 yards and six touchdowns this past season.
Coleman is expected to immediately fill that void.

During his two seasons at Auburn, he emerged as one of the SEC’s more productive pass catchers. As a sophomore in 2025, Coleman started all 12 games and recorded 56 receptions for 708 yards and five touchdowns, including a career-high 143 yards and 10 catches against Vanderbilt.
He also had 37 catches for 598 yards and eight scores as a true freshman, earning SEC All-Freshman honors.
Before college, Coleman was one of the nation’s most highly touted recruits. He was a five-star prospect and rated as the No. 5 overall player nationally, as well as the No. 2 receiver in the 2024 ESPN 300 class.
As a senior, he posted 61 receptions for 1,372 yards and 18 touchdowns, leading his team to a state championship and earning game MVP honors.
