Little is known yet about what sparked the chaos, but it is believed to have started on an outdoor walkway inside the prison grounds.

Deputies from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office had to be called in to help wrestle control of the situation, which included deploying non-lethal weapons.
The prison was finally secured around 3 p.m., but not before three inmates were killed and 13 others hospitalized for injuries. A prison guard was also hurt and taken to a hospital.
Ahmod Hatcher, who was serving 20 years for aggravated assault; Jimmy Trammel, who was doing 20 years for first-degree burglary; and Teddy Jackson, who was serving 10 years for aggravated assault, were all killed in the brawl, according to 41 NBC.
It remains unclear how they died. The guard, meanwhile, suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
Sheriff’s deputies left the prison by 6 p.m., and it remained on lockdown into Monday afternoon.
