Chilling footage reveals three men, their faces concealed, attempting to bundle a woman into a van around 8:20am on Rue Pache.
The woman’s partner helps to save her, and the would-be kidnappers flee the scene in their van.
Police have stated the unnamed 34-year-old victim was accompanied by her two-year-old child. However, it remains unclear how the toddler managed to evade capture, as reported by Le Parisien.
A man is seen intervening in the horror but receives blows from the kidnappers as the shocking scene unfolded before the eyes of many passers-by, most of whom didn’t get involved despite the victim’s screams.
The attackers, one of whom seemingly lost a handgun, which it is unclear whether was real or fake, ended up fleeing in a hurry, getting into the back of the van.
The vehicle was found on a street in the same area. According to the outlet, the mum who evaded kidnapping is the daughter of the CEO of a cryptocurrency purchasing platform.
The Paris prosecutor’s office has asked the anti-banditry brigade to carry out the investigation.
