Jennifer Hudson is spending some quality time out with her son.
The daytime talk show host, 43, and her son David, 15, matched as they both sported Crocs during a mother-son outing on Wednesday, April 30, at the Los Angeles Lakers vs. the Minnesota Timberwolves game.
Hudson paired her designer black, rhinestone-covered Crocs with blue jeans, a black shirt and a leather jacket. The teenager wore an all-black outfit with his white and gray Crocs.

Hudson welcomed her first and only child on Aug. 10, 2009. She shares him with her ex-fiancé, former WWE Star David Otunga, whom she split from in November 2017 after a decade together.
Over the years, Hudson has largely kept her son out of the spotlight, sharing only a few glimpses of him on social media, primarily in video clips that show off his impressive dance moves. The teen seems to have inherited his mom’s talent for entertaining, joining her onstage for duets and vogueing with her on red carpets.
“He’s the cutest thing in the world!” the Grammy-winner raved to PEOPLE about her son soon after his arrival. “There are no words for it. He’s the best. It’s just amazing – us discovering each other, me becoming a mom.”

Motherhood has brought its own challenges for Hudson. Still, she’s proud of the young man David has become.
“Being a mom of a Black son, you have to make him conscious of and aware of certain things — who he is within the world. And there’s so many layers he has to learn!” she told Real Simple in an August 2023 interview. “But he’s at an age where he can fully understand it. And he’s so evolved beyond what I could ever imagine.”
When David turned 15 in August 2024, the EGOT winner shared a rare photo of her son on Instagram to commemorate the special day. In the snap, the Dreamgirls star posed in an all-denim outfit with her son towering over her, wearing a black crewneck. The mother-son duo had bright smiles on their faces.
“Team Jhud, can yal help wish my kid @d.o.j10 a very happy blest 15th birthday!” she began her caption. “I can not believe that I got a 15 year old ! God is good ! Happy Birthday , my baby!!!!”
