Maryse Mizanin is putting pen to paper!
The former professional wrestler and reality television star – who is married to WWE star Mike “The Miz” Mizanin – exclusively tells PEOPLE she’s finished writing a memoir about her life.
Maryse, 42, broke the news to PEOPLE during a red carpet appearance before WWE’s Hall of Fame ceremony on Friday, April 18 at the Fontainebleau in Las Vegas, saying she’s hopeful the book will “probably come out next year.”
“It took me about two and a half months to write it,” the former Total Divas and Miz & Mrs. star explains. “I think people are going to be a little shocked.”

The mother of two tells PEOPLE she “loved” the writing experience and already wants to sit down to write another book.
“I wanted to do it forever and then one day I was like, ‘OK, that’s it,’” Maryse says. “I loved it. When I start, I can’t stop. I’m actually sad now that I’m done with it. I want to go back. Or maybe I should start a new one, more about my life or something else.”
Maryse says she sent Mike “everything” she wrote, and took her husband’s feedback to heart.
Mike, who appeared alongside his wife of 11 years at the WWE Hall of Fame event, tells PEOPLE he was impressed by what he read.
“She would be giving me pages and I was like, ‘I need more! I need more!’ “ he explains. “She got everything right on the head on the first draft, really. She’s an amazing writer and a great storyteller.
“The book just has everything,” he continues. “There were times when I was like, ‘Well, what if it has this?’ And she was like, ‘Yeah, I could add that,’ and it was five minutes later and I’m like, how do you do this?!”

As for her in-ring career, Maryse says “you never know” if she’ll step back into the squared circle as a WWE competitor. Earlier this year, Maryse told PEOPLE how being a mother to her and Mike’s two children – Monroe Sky, 7, and Madison Jade, who turns 6 later this year – has taken priority in her life, explaining “as much as I love the business [of pro wrestling], I choose my kids.”
“The kids are now priority and number one,” Maryse told PEOPLE. “So we have to prioritize them in every single aspect. … Especially as a woman, it’s difficult with two kids. I can’t travel the way [I used to].”

The couple, who met in WWE and starred in a reality show about their life as celebrity parents, say plenty is keeping them busy outside the professional wrestling ring anyhow, perhaps even enough to fill the pages of another book.
“We got a lot going on right now,” Mike says. “So it’s like she’s already got another chapter or two ready to be written.”
